This three-level, 58,000 sq. ft. brick building started out as a school, and was then converted to a church. LEE Companies was brought on board to oversee the conversion of this facility back into a school. Although generously sized and perfect for adaptive re-use, this structure needed several upgrades to operate as a functional school. To accommodate the demand of everyday use, the facility needed a new kitchen, updated bathrooms, flooring and a new stairwell. This school renovation also included a new, high-tech HVAC system also keeps the facility comfortable & efficient year-round. All of the interior improvements are complements to the upgraded exterior. Operating since 2012, there are nearly 500 students taking advantage of Indiana Life Sciences Academy’s 18 classrooms.
