LEE Companies served as the Construction Manager for the new Customs and Border Protection facility at the Gary/Chicago International Airport, acting as the airport’s representative while managing the construction. The addition of a Customs Facility allows the airport to capture a broader segment of the Chicago Aviation Market, specifically incoming international flights with 20 or fewer passengers.
The renovation optimizes an underutilized portion of an existing airport building that housed the airport’s rescue and firefighting departments. LEE Companies was selected for both our long history with construction at the Gary Chicago International Airport as well as our extensive experience retrofitting public facilities.
